Kidnapping victim emerges from the trunk after car strikes Seattle residence

63-year-old man climbs out of the trunk saying he was kidnapped

A car he was imprisoned in crashed into a house and caught fire, allowing the alleged kidnapping victim to flee.

The Seattle Police Department responded to a vehicle fire in the 7200 block of 27th Avenue NE on March 16 at 5:05 a.m. According to witnesses, a man was seen “climbing out of the trunk of the crashed vehicle.”

The 63-year-old victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries by Seattle Fire Department personnel on the site before being sent to Harborview Medical Center.

The man allegedly claimed he had been “assaulted by numerous people, then bound and placed in the trunk of his own vehicle,” according to Seattle Police.

An 18-year-old guy who allegedly fit the suspect’s description was apprehended by police.

Officers in Seattle questioned him before releasing him.

The department’s homicide unit is still conducting its investigation even though police were unable to find any other suspects.
