Woman Kidnapped and held captive in a dog cage.

A woman in her 40s was allegedly held captive in a dog cage before making a daring escape and knocking on multiple doors to beg neighbors for assistance. Four kidnapping suspects were later detained in Florida.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Monica Latresis Reed, 37, Cortez Jackson, 39, Kevin Holmes, 21, and Damon Tromp, 19, have now been charged with armed kidnapping with the purpose of committing a felony and false imprisonment with a weapon.

Police allege that Reed pistol-whipped the nameless victim in the cheek while holding her as a hostage, and as a result, she is now charged with an extra count of aggravated battery with a firearm.

According to the affidavit, Reed and the other three “did forcibly confine, abduct, or imprison the victim against their will by for the purpose of inflicting bodily harm or terrorizing the victim.”

The affidavit stated that this was done so the defendant could get information from the victim, namely the victim’s address, regarding a possible stolen item.

The woman is alleged to have been restrained with a revolver inside a car, her hands restrained with a cord.

The victim’s wrists, feet, and lips allegedly had duct tape applied by the perpetrators. When the woman tried to flee the vehicle, Jackson, Holmes, and Trump allegedly assisted in physically restraining her. The complaint claims that she was then held in a dog kennel in Reed’s backyard.

The victim managed to get away in some way. The woman knocked on a door on Barnett Place in Pine Hills, Florida, screaming for help and claiming she had just escaped after being held against her will in a cage at a neighboring property, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were sent to the scene, they said.

According to online jail records, Jackson is also charged with failing to appear on a previous petty theft retail allegation.
